BALDWINSVILLE — The town of Van Buren has announced a series of Earth Day cleanup events, including scrap metal and tire drop-off days.
The Van Buren Highway Garage, 3417 Walters Road, will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22 and from 8 a.m. to noon April 23 to accept scrap metal and tires (up to four per family). The cost for tires is the cost the town’s vendor charges. OCRRA stickered trash bags collected by those registered with OCRRA for Earth Day Clean Up will also be accepted.
No residential trash or large household items will be accepted.
For more information, contact the highway department at 315-635-5124 or [email protected].
OCRRA Litter Cleanup
Last year, over 4,100 people participated in OCRRA’s Earth Day Litter Cleanup and 56,000 pounds of trash were collected. Join your neighbors on April 22 or April 23 to clean up litter and help beautify our community.
Groups can be large or small, and groups of one are 100% welcome. Ask friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers to join and have an even bigger impact on litter in our community.
Not sure where to clean up? Take a walk or drive around your area to find places that need attention. Clean-up locations are selected by group leaders.
While OCRRA does not provide garbage bags or other cleanup supplies, OCRRA will tell you where to deposit the litter you collect, where OCRRA will dispose of it at no cost.
The deadline to register is Friday, April 15, at ocrra.org.
