SKANEATELES — Skaneateles has come to be known for many things.
Form the lake and all that it has to offer to unique shops and restaurants.
From Feb. 18 to 27, the focus will be placed on the many eateries the community has to offer.
Whether it is the iconic Doug’s Fish sandwich, a donut from Skaneateles Bakery or a beer at Skaneateles Brewery, there will be a little bit of everything for a wide variety of tastes.
Hilary Fenner, executive director of the Skaneateles Chamber of Commerce said this is the second year the event will be taking place.
When planning, Fenner said everyone looked at the calendar and took into consideration the ebb and flow of the restaurant business.
“We are excited that Skaneateles Restaurant Week is back for a second year from Feb. 19 to 27,” Fenner said. “Last year we had great feedback from both the community and the restaurants. February is a slow time for restaurants, so the community support helps them to keep their doors open over the winter.. We purposefully put this event over the school break week to give families a fun excuse to get out of the house and enjoy a local meal.”
As of press time, Fenner said the following restaurants will be participating: Doug’s Fish Fry, Skaneateles Brewery, The Inn Between, Good Eats and Sips, Skaneateles Bakery, Blue Water Grill, Sherwood Inn, Elephant and the Dove, Krebs Restaurant and Mike’s Pizzeria.
Fenner said more may be added and to keep an eye on the chamber of commerce Facebook page for more information.
“Restaurant week specials may be available for takeout, but you would want to check with the individual restaurant to verify,” Fenner said. “We hope that this is an event we can continue on an annual basis.”
