Skaneateles Garden Club brings home ribbons
The garden club is part of the 6th District of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State, whose members compete at the New York State Fair each year. These competitions have strict guidelines and serious judging.
Winners from the Artistic Design AA Show 1 – Broadway Bound
Janet Shadle received a third place ribbon for Elphaba Vs. Galinda – Wicked
Ceme Curley won a second place ribbon for Between Scenes – Intermission and was presented with second place for Enchanted Evening – South Pacific
Winner from the Artistic Design AC Show 2 – Beyond Broadway
Third place ribbon went to Linda Arthur for her Photograph entitled Woodstock – Bethel Woods, NY
Winners from the Artistic Design AE Show 3 – Music and Dance
Linda Arthur won first place and the top award of “Designers Choice” for Alice in Wonderland –NYS Ballet, Rochester and Ceme Curley received a ribbon for second place.
Receiving ribbons for Artistic Design AF Show 3 – Music and Dance
Third place winner, Ceme Curley for Band at the Gazebo – Summer on Skaneateles Lake and fourth place for Pop Rocks – Darien Lake Amphitheater.
Third place ribbon was presented to Priscilla Pultz for A Christmas Story – Winter Garden Theater.
Also contributing to the event from the garden club was Judge Priscilla Pultz, Clerks: Linda Arthur, Lori Milne, Susan Hayden, Gretchen Hamlin, Lina Pateras, Karen Wheeler-Lockwood and Tacie Anderson. A Luncheon was provided by Renee Brown and Linda Daly.
The object of this club shall be to promote the art of gardening; to aid in the conservation of natural flora: to promote the artistic use of flowers and other plant materials; and to further the beautification of Skaneateles.
