Executive director Emily Zaengle resigns
The Board of Directors of the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park has announced that Kelli Johnson will join the Art Park in November as interim director. Johnson will replace Executive Director Emily Zaengle, who has accepted a position with a regional non-for-profit organization.
“We very much appreciate the contribution and innovative programs that Emily has brought to the Art Park over the last three years and wish her well as she continues her career,” said Anne Ferguson, Art Park board president. “At the same time, we welcome Kelli’s breadth of experience and can think of few people who are as involved as Kelli in Cazenovia and the regional non-for-profit community.”
Johnson has been director of CommonGrounds, a community collaborative space, while also holding various literacy and educational positions including adjunct instructor at Syracuse and Colgate Universities and Onondaga Community College.
Within Cazenovia, Johnson was board president of Cazenovia Pre-School; faith formation coordinator at St. James Episcopal Church; serves on the boards of the Public Library and Community Active Partnership; and is a charter member of the Cazenovia Tree Commission. Johnson received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY-Geneseo and her master’s degree from Syracuse University. She and her husband have four children and reside in Cazenovia.
“Kelli will bring energy and commitment to the Art Park’s 2018 programs while the board completes its search for a permanent executive director,” said Ferguson. “Kelli will play a key role as we execute our strategy in the year ahead, and the Board looks forward to working with her.”
During 2017, the Art Park completed development of a Master Plan to guide the organization over the next 5 to 10 years, in response to increased membership and the public’s desire for additional programs, consistent with its mission.
