Elect Tucker to town board
To the editor:
Mark has served in several capacities on town committees over many years and comes from a hard working farm family. He is the only true designated candidate who lives in the town outside the village and will represent that area as well as all of us. He will be supportive in getting the town board “off the dime” by getting water to the residents on Andrews Road and County Line Road. With his experience he will be a great addition to the town board. I urge you to vote for Mark Tucker on Nov. 7.

Experience separates town board candidates
To the editor:
In this upcoming Town of Skaneateles election two current town councilors stand out above the rest in seeking seats on the town board, they are Connie Brace and Claire Howard. All the candidates have expressed their commitment to preserving the pristine nature of our community with special attention to the water shed and ultimately the lake. All candidates represent diverse perspectives that could benefit the community by their service on the board. What separates all the candidates is experience in our town government.
Connie and Claire have committed the past four years serving the community while being members of the town board. As a former 10-year member of the village board, I recognize the benefit of experience in local government. The two principal functions of both boards are the health and safety of our citizens and fiscal responsibility. It is a continuous balancing act on how to accomplish both within the confines of an annual budget with limited funds.
The two-party political atmosphere in our country is disgraceful. There is no place for the major parties to influence local elections. Local governments do not debate or decide social issues. Town and village government officials are best served by citizens that dedicate their time and energy for the betterment of our neighbors, without making their efforts a career.
Claire and Connie are both exceptionally successful in their professional careers and demonstrated their love and commitment to Skaneateles for decades. They have the respect and admiration of the village board and have worked closely with Janet Aaron throughout the past four years of serving our community.
I proudly endorse Connie Brace and Claire Howard to continue serving our community as members of the town board in the Tuesday Nov. 7, 2017 election. Please exercise your constitutional right and vote!
