The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will present a community discussion on loss, support and prevention at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at First United Methodist Church, 17 W. Genesee St., Baldwinsville.
Topics include the warning signs of suicide and how to help, plus information on local resources available to support those who are struggling and those who have lost someone to suicide.
Other topics will include ways to promote healing, wellness and resiliency in the community as well as the best ways to offer support and hope to those who are suffering. The speaker is Debra Graham, the federation’s Central New York Area Director and a loss survivor.
The free program, which is open to everyone, is sponsored by Hands of Hope, a monthly grief support group at the church. For additional information, call the church at (315) 635-6442.
