DCL Storywalk offers reading adventure for all ages

DeWitt Community Library, in partnership with the Town of DeWitt Parks and Recreation Department, has announced its new program, Nature Explorers StoryWalk at Ryder Park. During the month of July, the library has posted two nature-themed picture books around the pond at Ryder Park: “Scoot” by Cathryn Falwell and “And Here’s to You!” by David Elliott. “Scoot” will be on display from July 2 to July 14, while “And Here’s to You!” can be seen July 16 to July 31. Additionally, the DeWitt Community Library will be featuring a StoryWalk during Canal Day, “Explorers of the Wild”by Cale Atkinson, which can be viewed August 6 to 7.

A StoryWalk is a way to be physically active and enjoy reading at the same time. The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vt., and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library. Since then, StoryWalks have been posted across America and the world.
