Skaneateles Police Chief Lloyd Perkins will remain in his position through the end of 2014.
The village board voted to approve his contract at its Jan. 9 meeting. His previous contract had expired on Dec. 31, 2013.
Perkins was initially slated to retire back in 2012, but, at the request of the village board, he has remained on the force until a successor is ready, he said.
