Cazenovia police investigators now know the 30-minute window during which the multiple graffiti incidents occurred in the Wall Street alley in early December, and are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything during that time to come forward.
Outdoor surveillance videos taken by the Cazenovia College business office on Seminary Street show that the graffiti occurred between 4:47 and 5:18 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, said Cazenovia Police Chief Michael Hayes.
The cameras, which are motion-sensitive, recorded a late-model, dark-colored truck driving through the alley at 4:47 a.m., and show no graffiti on the buildings; and when a snow plow triggered the cameras again at 5:18 a.m. the graffiti is there, Hayes said.
Police are asking that anyone who was in the area during that time period and may have seen anything — especially the driver of the dark-colored truck — contact the department, even anonymously, at 655-3276.
The graffiti in the Wall Street alley between Kinney Drugs and Café Latte Da included three large pieces, all comprised of words or phrases. There were also six other graffiti incidents that occurred that same night, including two on the Lindenfeld Law Firm office at 11 Lincklaen St., one on the side of the U.S. Post Office on Lincklaen Street, one on a U.S. Postal Service mail truck, one on the window of the old gas station next to the defunct Napa building on Albany Street and one on the stop sign at the corner of Center and Albany Streets.
