The Solvay-Geddes-Camillus Kiwanis Club will soon deliver some 2,000 toys to 15 locations — including five church food pantries, Head Start Schools, Eastern Farm Workers, needy school groups and church outreach programs. Marine Toys for Tots will provide 1,400 of those toys and 600 toys will come from other community sources.
Club member Martin Slagel recently presented a $600 check to Staff Sergeant Roberto Corona of the Syracuse-based Marine Toys for Tots program.
“We realize that $600 does not cover the value of the toys we will be receiving, but hope it will help cover some of the miscellaneous expenses that the Marines incur in this very valuable service to our communities,” Slagel said.
