For the most part, the Baldwinsville wrestling team rest in the period between the North Country Invitational on Dec. 17 and the Mountain Duals late next week in Dolgeville.
Only once did the Bees compete, and that turned into a lopsided affair with little real competition as the Bees hosted Oswego Wednesday night and rolled past the Buccaneers 66-6.
B’ville had to win just four contested matches. Connor Ross, at 132 pounds, pinned Matt DiFabio in 46 seconds, right after Chad McArdell (126 pounds) took 1:43 to pin Jordan Perchway.
Later on, Ryan McArdell, at 152 pounds, controlled his match with Miguel Vazquez, winning an 8-1 decision, while Joe Nasoni (182 pounds) defeated Mike Ruggio 9-4.
Eight different times, Oswego had to forfeit matches. Thus, Kevin Paul (106 pounds), Tim Sposato (113 pounds), Jabr Bengabr (120 pounds), Jake Norton (138 pounds), Steve Petrelli (145 pounds), Anthony Rafkis (160 pounds), Brent Grippe (170 pounds) and Pat Nasoni (195 pounds) won without taking the mat.
The Mountain Duals, featuring 13 teams, runs Dec. 29 and 30, and following that the Bees are off until a key Jan. 11 match against Cicero-North Syracuse that could decide the CNY Counties League National division regular-season title.
