At their monthly meeting on Nov. 21, the Liverpool Village Board of Trustees approved the addition of two stop signs on Third Street, one at the corner of Birch Street and one at Balsam Street.
For decades, Third Street had no stop signs, but that should change within a week or so, said Village Clerk Mary Ellen Sims.
Mayor Gary White, a former Syracuse police officer, noted that motorists often exceed the speed limit when driving on Third Street which connects Oswego Street to Hickory Street.
The local law passed last week by the village board also lifts certain prohibitions against parking on Fourth Street between Outlook and Hickory streets.

In other village news, Department of Public Works Superintendent William Asmus reports that fall leaf pick-up is 50 percent through with its second round. Leaf pick-up will continue
Meanwhile, DPW crews are planning for winter snow by erecting wooden stakes with red markings to delineate snow-plowing borders on village sidewalks. Asmus requests that residents refrain from moving or removing the stakes.
Santa due Dec. 11
American Legion Post 188 will host its annual Christmas with Santa on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 11, at Johnson Park. Legion member Michael Yablonski is overseeing the annual holiday event.
