This week The Eagle spoke with Amy Goodman, co-host of Democracy Now!, an internationally acclaimed radio program. Goodman told us of her view of the media as a “huge kitchen table,” and spoke of the power of giving voice to a community and creating a forum where people can talk to each other.
The Eagle takes this responsibility seriously. It is our responsibility to give you information so that you can make informed decisions. We are also accountable to making sure that you know about the results of those decisions; which is why we work so hard to keep you tuned in to local politics, elections, public forums and other opportunities to effect the decisions that affect you.
Beyond information, it’s also our job to give you an outlet to tell your stories and to share your opinions. We are this community’s “kitchen table.”
We invite you to take a greater role in participating in the ongoing discussion. Our virtual doors are always open, and there are many ways to tell us what’s important to you. We want to be your forum for discussion. What do you want to talk about? Please e-mail us at [email protected], or join us on Facebook, facebook.com/theeaglecny.
