Three proposals for the Inner Harbor have been submitted to rehab the area.
Hart-Lyman Companies, COR Development and J&A Builders of Syracuse have all submitted proposals to redevelop the 28 acres of land surrounding the Inner Harbor.
The city requested the proposals in September after the New York State Canal Corporation transferred 34 acres of land surrounding the harbor to the city.
“This is a significant step forward in our plan to kick-start development at the Inner Harbor,” said Stephanie Miner, mayor of Syracuse. “I’m thrilled that developers have come forward with specific proposals to finally tap the potential of this prime waterfront real estate.”
The proposals will be reviewed by the Office of Management and Budget for completeness, and will then be sent to the Inner Harbor Selection Committee for review and recommendation.
Should Miner approve the recommendation, the Common Council would then have to vote on the proposal.
Developers could submit proposals for one or all five parcels that make up 28 of the 34 acres of land. The city will keep six acres around the Onondaga Creekwalk and amphiteater for public use.
