Rhythm-Airs on Teall Ave.
The Rhythm-Airs big band plays every Wednesday evening in Camillus, but this Saturday the orchestra will swing in Syracuse.
Led by trumpeter Maureen Clum, the Rhythm-Airs will perform charts primarily from the 1940s including tunes by Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Stan Kenton from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Goodtime Banquet Hall, 526 Teall Ave., in Syracuse, on the top floor of Klub Polski, the Polish-American Citizens Club. Tenor Madness clarinet crazy
The trio known as Tenor Madness goes clarinet crazy at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Westcott Community Center, 826 Euclid Ave. That night, four-string guitarist Hanna Richardson and her husband, bassist Phil Flanigan will be joined by Ithaca clarinetist Brian Earle.
Now a member of Djug Django, Earle previously performed with Peggy Haine & The Lowdown Alligator Jass Band.
“We’ll play two sets of classic, swinging American music guaranteed to leave you with a song in your heart and a spring in your step,” Hanna said.

Tenor Madness generally features both Phil and Hanna playing four-string guitars alongside bassist Jared Mulcahy. Hanna does the singing. In July, the trio began waxing its first CD, tentatively titled “Do Something!” at Syracuse’s Subcat Studios.
