Village water customers will begin receiving their water bills March 1, which reflect an approximate $15 increase per three-month period for village residents, while those outside the village can expect a $22 increase per quarter.
Village Engineer Tim Baker said water rates had remained the same for several years, but due to increased operating costs, it was necessary to adjust the rates. The hope is there will be no need for an additional adjustment for a few more years. He added that while bills are higher, village water is still cheaper than water rates through Onondaga County Water Authority.
