Eagle Newspaper’s sister publication, Syracuse Woman Magazine, launches this month.
Managing Editor Farah Jadran was on CNY Central this morning introducing the magazine. ( Video available here. )
“I think what’s going to be important about this is that it’s about local women, it’s about Syracuse women, women in Central New York that are making a difference, they’re inspiring each other,” Jadran said. “These are women that are leaders in business, education, political pursuits and community leadership and I think that’s a lot of what Central New York is about — about strong women that are leaders.”
Jadran said the magazine will stand out from other, similar publications.
“The typical woman’s magazine you see on the rack when you’re at the grocery aisle or Barnes and Noble, wherever you are, has a similar theme — it’s all about I think maybe unrealistic ideals for us,” she said. “And I think this magazine is about real women — it features real women, it features real topics.”
But don’t worry, the magazine will still feature some staples of women’s magazines — with a twist.
“We have the fun stuff in there, the beauty, the fashion,” Jadran said. “But it’s featuring real women.””
