Dino hosts Two-Hour Delay
If the band Two-Hour Delay doesn’t start right on time, at least they warned you with their timely moniker. In any case, the twangy quartet is set to take the stage at 10 p.m. (or so), Friday Jan. 21, at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, 246 W. Willow St. at the corner of South Franklin, downtown; 476-4937. The bluesy jam band features Tim Burns on acoustic guitar, Bob Gaus on electric guitar, Tom Mattern on bass and Brian Welch on drums.
Garnet Rogers sings Friday
Born in Hamilton, Ontario to parents of Nova Scotian descent, Garnet spent countless hours in front of the old floor-model radio listening to Grand Ol’ Opry broadcasts and harmonizing with his brother. He taught himself the flute, violin and guitar. At 18, Rogers hit the road as a full-time working musician with his brother, Stan. Garnet acted as producer and arranger for his older brother from 1973 to 1983, until Stan died tragically in a plane crash. Since then, Garnet has courageously established himself as a formidable solo artist.
Now 55, Rogers will perform at 8 p.m. Friday Jan. 21, May Memorial Unitarian Universalist Church, 3800 East Genesee St., in Syracuse.
The latest of his 10 solo discs, “Get a Witness,” was named one of the Top Ten Folk CDs of 2007 by the Boston Globe.

Jam Fest Sunday at the Palace
The Commander Cody Band and Professor Louie & The Crowmatix headline the January Jam Fest from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday Jan. 23 at Eastwood’s Palace Theater.
The day-long music festival also features ten area acts such as Isreal Hagan, Andrew Carroll, Mark Hoffmann, Los Blancos, Todd Hobin & Doug Moncrief, the Mojo Band. The music will fill the theater from 1 to 8 p.m., climaxing with a 7 p.m. jam session spotlighting members of the CNY Jazz Orchestra including Jeff Stockham & The Jazz Police.
Co-sponsored by Eagle Newspapers, the Jam Fest benefits CNY Jazz Central which presents jazz in concert, cabaret, scholastic and festival settings.
Admission costs $15 in advance and $30 VIP tickets are also on sale at 435-2121. Admission at the door costs $20 and VIP admission will be $35 ($30 for holders of CNY Jazz, JASS, WAER and student ID cards).
‘Exploding piano’ at Everson
Vanguard musician Kathleen Supov brings her “Exploding Piano” to the Everson Museum at 2:30 p.m. Sunday Jan. 23. This Society for New Music concert features music by Missy Mazzoli, Daniel Becker, Randall Woolf and Neil Rolnick, all written in the past 10 years. “The Exploding Piano” includes works commissioned and premiered by Supov and has developed into a multi-media experience including electronics, theatrical elements, vocal rants, performance art and collaboration with artists of other disciplines.

Salsa at Suds on Mondays
La Familia’s Salsa at Suds Latin Dance is back on again from 7 to 10 p.m. on Mondays at the Syracuse Suds Factory, 320 S. Clinton St., in Armory Square; 471-2253. Admission is free.
