“Moovers” and shakers from Madison County and beyond stepped out to Nelson this Aug. 7 for the second annual Mad Cow 5K Road Race. Nearly 200 runners and walkers took a sunny morning tour through the heart of Madison County’s cow country to benefit Community Action Partnership for Madison County.
The event, hosted by In Your Pace Running Club-an informal group of friends consisting of fun-loving and charitable recreational runners of all ages, sizes and athletic abilities-raised $3,750 that will help the agency support local families working to make positive changes in their lives.
“I love this event because it celebrates what is fun and unique about our county and its history while helping to make this a better place for everyone to live in the future,” said CAP Executive Director Julie Dale.
“Countless hours of volunteer work and tremendous community support from businesses and local athletes helped make this one of our most successful events ever-we just can’t thank everyone enough.”
Community Action Partnership for Madison County, one of more than 1,100 Community Action agencies throughout the U.S., has three accessible offices throughout Madison County.
