Cazenovia School District voters approved a proposed $25,681,861 budget at the polls today.
The budget passed with 516 votes in favor and 241 votes against.
Both propositions on the ballot were approved: one for bus purchases with 513 in favor and 226 against, and a proposition supporting the Cazenovia and New Woodstock libraries.
This year’s school board elections were to fill two full-term, three year seats and one partial, two-year position vacated earlier this year.
Incumbent Fritz Koennecke and challenger Katherine Hahn were elected to the full-term positions, with 544 and 522 votes, respectively. Incumbent Patrick Vogl was elected to the partial position with 498 votes.
The 2010-11 budget was only marginally higher than last year’s, with a $180 increase. However, district residents will see a tax rate increase of 3.25 percent because of the loss of $1,060,462 in state aid under the governor’s executive budget proposal.
