A few years ago Syracuse’s Juneteenth festival was marred by an outbreak of gang violence downtown at Clinton Square.
This year, a 20-year-old Pioneer Homes man was stabbed to death near South Salina and West Fayette streets following a fight at the Latino-American Fest on Saturday Aug. 15.
A raucous crowd of about 200 people were rumbling at the downtown corner known as Grand Central when the murder occurred. So far as we know, not one of those 200 witnesses has yet stepped forward to bear witness to the crime that took Anthony Lewis’ young life.
To stop the violence, break the silence! If you know anything, call Syracuse Police at 442-5222.
