Duggan to perform at NOPL
Dan Duggan, nationally known touring performer and teacher, will perform at 7 p.m. July 23 at the Brewerton Library at 5437 Library St., Brewerton. Basketball and cheerleading camp
Northside Baptist Church will host Upward Basketball and Cheerleading Camp from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday July 24 at the church on Route 57. Final day to register is July 10. $35 per person by July 1, $45 per person after that date. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt, water bottle and either ball or pompoms. NAMOW golf tournament
The North Syracuse Plank Road Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Golf Tournament with proceeds going to the North Area Meals on Wheels. The event will be held Sunday July 26 at the Greens at Beaumont, Route 11, Cicero (formerly Skyline). Registration begins at noon, prior to the 1 p.m. tee off. Romano Jeep will donate a 2010 Jeep Liberty to the golfer who hits a hole in one. The $75 per person fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner, prizes and awards. There is no rain date. Driver’s safety course
The village of North Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department is offering a driver’s safety program sponsored by AARP. This course allows drivers, especially those 50 and older, reductions on their auto insurance rates. This two-part class will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday July 27 and Tuesday July 28 at the North Syracuse Community Center at 700 South Bay Road. Babysitting course
The village of North Syracuse Parks and Recreation Department will host a babysitter’s training course from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 12 in the North Syracuse Community Center, 700 South Bay Road. The course is taught by an American Red Cross instructor and is intended for 11- to 15-year-olds. The course will cover topics including performing first aid, diapering and feeding techniques, choosing safe and age-appropriate toys and games, interviewing for a babysitting job and more. The 45th reunion for the 1964 Baker High School Class will be held the weekend of Aug. 14 through 16 beginning with a meet and greet at Fireside Inn Friday, dinner at Mohegan Manor Saturday and a catered lunch at noon Sunday at Mercer Park. Art guild welcomes new members
All those who are interested in art are welcome to join the Wednesday group of the North Syracuse Art Guild at the VFW Hall, 105 Maxwell Ave, North Syracuse, to learn, exchange knowledge of art, share fine art with others, and to work your media. Wii Wednesdays at Clay senior center
The Center for Town of Clay Seniors will host Wii Wednesdays on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. Alzheimer’s Association hosts support group meetings
The Alzheimer’s Association will host a number of support groups in the Liverpool area. The monthly meetings are open to caregivers of people with Alzheimer’s disease. Support group for grieving children
A monthly support group for grieving children will meet on the third Tuesday of each month at Hope For Bereaved from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Its purpose is to help children, ages 5 to 18 years old, cope with the death of a parent or primary caregiver. The support group coincides with Hope’s Young Widow/Widower Support Group which meets at the same time. No pre-registration is required. Walk-ins welcome. North Syracuse Community Chorus
The North Syracuse Community Chorus has formed and wishes to recruit additional participants.
