The Liverpool Central School District has chosen a new superintendent.
According to its website, Liverpool will appoint Dr. Richard “Nick” Johns to the position being vacated by Jan Matousek at the end of this month.
“Both current board members and board members-elect are united in the belief that Dr. Johns is the right choice to lead Liverpool schools into the future,” said Board President J. Mark Lawson in a letter to the community posted on the website. “He brings a breadth of experience, intellectualism, personal integrity, enthusiasm for public education, and a heart for children.”
While the appointment is not final, the board has decided to enter into contract negotiations with Johns. According to Lawson, Johns has expressed that he will accept the district’s offer.
