Though it proved exciting, the Jamesville-DeWitt boys volleyball team began in a happy manner.
The Red Rams hosted Oneida last Monday night and required two different comebacks to earn a five-game victory over the Indians.
A close first game went in Oneida’s favor, 25-23, requiring J-D to rally and win the second game 25-16 before the Indians earned the third game 25-18.
Down 2-1, J-D stayed tough, pulling out a 25-20 win in the fourth game before a fifth game where the Rams, by a 25-21 margin, finished in front.
Mac Keehfus picked up 14 assists, six kills, three aces and three blocks. Up front, Nick Buniak and Tyler Grover each had 11 kills, while Luke Voelker gained 22 assists. Rob Sweet and Stephen Davis each helped with six assists, as Sweet also earned four kills.
