With in its usual punishing style, the Canastota girls basketball team neared the halfway mark of the regular season undefeated with a double-digit win streak, just as it sneaked into the state Class B rankings at the no. 20 spot.
Westmoreland paid a visit Monday night and never got started, the Raiders shutting the Bulldogs down throughout a 50-21 romp.
Both teams were cold at the start. Canastota was fortunate to escape the first quarter with a 4-2 lead, but started to take charge by outscoring Westmoreland 13-4 in the next frame.
From there, the Raiders just kept pulling away, helped in no small part by Liz McGinley putting up 20 points, nearly matching the Bulldogs by herself.
McGinley headed a three-pronged attack where Alicia Hibbard worked her way to 14 points and Shea Foster stepped up for a season-high total of 12 points.
