In between the Westhill girls basketball team’s narrow escape from Clinton on Dec. 20 and its showdown with Bishop Ludden 11 days later, the Warriors rested, for the most part.
However, in the one game it did play, Westhill did not have any kind of drama, dominating Marcellus in a 63-31 decision.
On the defensive side, the Warriors never let the Mustangs earn more than nine points in any single period, allowing a big margin to build up.
Meanwhile, Carly Cooper, off a quiet showing against Clinton, roared again with 24 points, connecting on three 3-pointers. Annie O’Connor had eight points, while Sam Marshall earned seven points and Kayla Stirpe earned six points.
Both Westhill and Ludden come into their game on Tuesday unbeaten in the OHSL Liberty division and tied with Cazenovia for first place.
