Just before hitting the holiday break, the Hamilton girls basketball team hit on another winning formula to push its unbeaten mark to 8-0.
The Emerald Knights visited Westmoreland last Tuesday night and nearly doubled the Bulldogs’ production on its way to an easy 63-36 victory.
Unfazed by the lack of practice time leading up to the game, Hamilton ripped out to a 57-24 lead by the end of the third quarter, setting a fast pace and smothering Westmoreland on the defensive side.
Jordan Peterson had the best performance of her varsity career, stepping up for 22 points and topping teammate Kylie Martin, who still put up 21 points of her own. Jess Brawn added seven points.
Hamilton will get nearly two weeks of rest, not resuming until Jan. 5, when it plays Stockbridge Valley.
