A few changes will be apparent this year to annual Solvay Summer Festival visitors, said Anthony Alberti, who is helping to organize the event.
The Kiddie Parade has been moved to Saturday at 4 p.m., immediately preceding the general parade.
“This year we wanted to try something different,” said Alberti.

But those who have enjoyed the festival before will recognize much of the attractions, including the fireworks display each night, midway rides and games, live music and a wide variety of food vendors.
“This is a great tradition I can remember this when I was a kid,” Alberti said. “Forget your troubles for two, three days, come down and have a hot dog and a beer.”
Alberti commended the village board for their support, particularly Solvay Parks Commissioner Kathy Marinelli.
“She works hard and loves this village,” he said of Marinelli.
Alberti added the event would not be possible without the help of local police, fire and emergency departments, Solvay Electric department, donations from local businesses, and a grant secured by Senator John DeFrancisco.
