Just before it hit the post-season, the Fayetteville-Manlius track and field teams cast aside one more CNY Counties League American division foe.
The Hornets completed a sweep of Wednesday’s meet against Oswego, beating the Buccaneers 95-42 on the girls side and 109-32 on the boys end.
Jessica Marini won three times in the girls meet, as she ran the 200-meter dash in 29 seconds flast, won the 400-meter dash in 1:02.0 and won the 400 hurdles in 1:05.9.
Kathryn Buchan ran to first place in both the 1,500-meter run (4:59.0) and 3,000-meter run (10:30.8), as Mackenzie Carter won the 800-meter run in 2:25.2.
Carter, Jordan Levy, Kathryn Fanning and Colleen Mulvihill teamed to help F-M win the 4×400 relay (4:28.1) as Jocelyn Richards, Courtney Chapman, Alex Chapman and Amanda Eisenson took the 4×800 in 9:58.5.
F-M also did well in field events. Lane Brenner cleared 4 feet 10 inches in the high jump, while Noelle Knox won the long jump (14 feet 2 inches). Amanda Saunders cleared 6 feet in the pole vault as Julia Donato threw the shot put 26 feet 8 1/2 inches.
In the boys meet, Alex Hatz took the spotlight in the 800-meter run, as his time of 1:55.4 was the best in Section III this season.
Paul Merriman was first in the mile (4:38.1) and Andy Sargrad got a title in the 3,200-meter run (10:07.8). Merriman and Hatz joined Andrew Roache and Brendan Farrell posted a time of 9:59.2 in the 4×800 relay.
Jamal Johnson stepped in and won both the 100-meter dash (11.0 seconds) and 200-meter dash in 22.4 seconds, while Eric Snavely ran through the 400 hurdles in 1:00.2. Johnson, Hatz, Gottsch Kramer and Miles Lawlor combined in the 4×400 relay to win in 3:39.7.
In the 4×100 relay, Westley Wright, Colin Anderson, Ryan Jones and Jordan Foster recorded a time of 46.3 seconds, just before Wright won the long jump (19 feet 9 1/4 inches) and Anderson threw the discus 129 feet 1 inch.
Elsewhere, Nolan Powers won the high jump, clearing 5 feet 8 inches, while Ben Foster threw the shot put 44 feet 8 inches and Jack Ruggiero earned a top triple jump of 37 feet 3 inches.
