BPD receives 3.75 percent raise
The village board has approved a two-year contract between the village and the Police Benevolence Association.
Baldwinsville Police Department officers will receive a 3.75 percent increase in pay for time served between March 1, 2007 and Feb. 29 with retroactive pay and a 3.75 percent increase in pay for March 1 to Feb. 28, 2009.
VB hires J & L Cleaners
Van Buren contracted with J & L Cleaners to perform janitorial services for the town buildings at a cost of $13,074. The town also received a $42,500 bid from Marty’s Building Service regarding the contract.
VB, Lysander make 2008 appointments
Van Buren appointed Jeff Brown as town attorney, replacing Jim Stokes, and appointed Patricia Dickman to fill the councilor seat vacated by Sykes.
The three attorneys representing the town on the town board, zoning board of appeals and planning board are now all from the Mackenzie Hughes Law firm.
The town also made the following appointments during an organizational meeting held Jan. 1:
Dickman was appointed as deputy supervisor; and former supervisor Mary Crego was appointed to the board of assessment review.
Councilors Howard Tupper, Dickman and Harold Johnson were appointed to the public safety committee; councilors Johnson, Ronald Dudzinski and Sykes were appointed to the highway committee; and councilors Tupper, Mary Frances Sabin and Dickman were appointed to the planning and zoning committee.

Lysander made the following appointments during an organizational meeting held Jan. 3:
Brian May was re-appointed as deputy supervisor and Bonnie Kisselstein was re-appointed as historian, both of which are one-year appointments.
Councilors Art Levy and Jack Krisanda were appointed to both the consolidation of services and highway committees; councilors Brian May and Ed Reed were appointed to the planning committee; and councilors Krisanda and May were appointed to the public safety committee, each of which are one-year appointments.
There were no changes made to the town attorney or engineer.
