Laurence (Larry) T. Damon, 69, of Damon Road, New Woodstock passed away on Friday, Feb. 26,2021, after a lengthy battle with numerous medical issues.
Larry touched many people’s lives throughout his lifetime, some with an iron fist, most with a warm embrace. Larry had a heart of a lion yet the tenderness of a lamb. He loved his dogs Timber and Jet and often reminisced about the time they shared near the ocean, on the beaches and exploring the forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Larry was born on Oct. 4, 1951. He grew up on the Damon Farm. Larry was an outstanding high school athlete, excelling in football and baseball, following in the footsteps of his father. He was an avid hunter and photographer and also spent time writing poetry.
Larry was predeceased by his father L Stanley Damon, his mother Lois J. Damon, and his youngest brother Steven K. Damon.
Larry is survived by his brothers Terry (Mary), Kevin and sister Renee. Larry is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Reilly, Mathew, Kara, Lisa, Samantha, Alex, Jennie, Andrea and dear friend Theresa.
No services are planned at this time. A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a future date.
