Dorothy M. Heapy passed away on Aug. 26, 2020, at The Grand Nursing Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Chittenango, following a short illness.
Dorothy and her husband, Forrest A. Heapy, who died on July 4, 2003, were residents of both Skaneateles, and most recently of Auburn.
Dorothy was born on Sept. 8, 1937, in Pittsburg, PA, and thereafter resided in Chicago, IL, where she later graduated from the Chicago Institute of Art. She was employed for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper for various companies including the Burrows Corporation.
Dorothy was a very religious and generous person who supported many different charitable institutions.
Dorothy was an only child whose parent’s Dorothy F. Locke McIssac and Edmund R. McIsaac predeceased her. Dorothy was also predeceased by her first husband George Moring and by her maternal grandparents, Fred Leon Locke and Florence Ross Locke. In addition Dorothy was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Molly Klug McIsaac.
Dorothy enjoyed her many years of residency in Auburn where she made numerous friends and acquaintances. Dorothy was a great neighbor and friend and she will be greatly missed. At Dorothy’s request there will be no calling hours and no funeral services. All arrangements regarding her burial are being made by Robert D. Gray Funeral Home of Skaneateles.
