“After conducting an investigation to identify all close contacts of the individual, it was determined this person visited Walmart on the afternoon of April 14,” said Madison County Public Health Director Eric Faisst. “Anyone who visited the store during the identified time frame should monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 until April 28, 2020. Those symptoms include fever, cough, and/or difficulty breathing. If symptoms develop, please stay home and contact your doctor for guidance on testing. In an emergency please call 911.”
Faisst would like to remind the public that people should wear a face covering when you are out in public especially when they are unable to maintain social distancing such as when in a store. Also, members of the public should be adhering to the voluntary stay at home measures that Madison County has put into place. These guidelines are for all of our protection to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community.
Madison County is asking residents to not go out in public unless they have to, and if you need to shop for essentials or go to the park please limit your outings to the following days:
Odd Birth Year: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and April 26
Even Birth Year: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and April 19
If you must go out, be sure to stay at least 6 feet away from others at all times and wear a cloth face mask. Please remember to wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer before you touch your face.
