A Camillus man is accused of raping a friend while she was asleep.
Joseph Canfield, 45, of Jarrett Drive, was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office. Police say Canfield engaged in sexual contact with an adult female friend who had fallen asleep at a mutual friend’s home.
He was arraigned in town of Camillus court and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center in lieu of $50,000 cash or bond.
He’s due back in Camillus court Dec. 2.
