For the last time this winter, the Liverpool and Cicero-North Syracuse indoor track and field teams appeared in different Saturday sessions at SRC Arena, and each of them would win.
The boys Warriors won the morning session with 117 points and the girls had even more points, 136.5, even though it finished second to Fayetteville-Manlius.
A big highlight on the girls side for Liverpool was Jenna Schulz setting a personal mark in the 1,500-meter run, winning that race in four minutes, 32.36 seconds as Sydney Carlson finished fifth in 4:56.41.
Imahni Sinclair had a top weight throw of 46 feet 11 ½ inches and a winning shot put toss of 34’ ½”. Amina Sinclair, the school-record holder in the high jump with 5’6”, won here with 5’3”, Alexia Ostrander taking fourth place with 4’8”.
Kali Hayes set a personal mark to win the 55-meter hurdles in 8.82 seconds, more than half a second ahead of the field. Then Sophia Jarosz was victorious in the 300-meter dash in 44.03 seconds, with Anne Gullo (44.62) third.
Jarosz and Gullo, paired with Riley Norris and Tahje McDonald, were victorious in the 4×200 relay in 1:50.64, more than two seconds ahead of F-M’s 1:52.71.
Eva Woodworth went 1:46.43 to get second place in the 600-meter run. Schulz, Rosie Petrella, Sophia Hoy and Kara Nash was second in the 4×800 relay in 10:51.10.
Riley Norris, in 7.75 seconds, edged Jarosz (7.77) for third in the 55-meter dash. Liverpool also was fourth in the 4×400 relay as Kara Nash was fifth in the 1,000-meter run.
On the boys side, Ryan Cartwight won the 3,200-meter run in 10:07.24, with Jacob Makhouf fourth and Jack Sherlock fifth. Bennett Robb would beat the field in the high jump, clearing 6’1”.
Jaime Vong went 11’3” in the pole vault to grab second place behind Central Square’s Brett Fehrman (11’6”) as Ryan Hagan got second place in the 1,000 in 2:47.45.
Jalen Graham had a second-place weight throw of 48’8 3/4’”, also taking fifth in the shot put as Jamie Vong was fourth.
Jake McGowan gained third place in the 1,600-meter run in 4:42.73 and Ethan Glashauser was fifth. Jamie Vong was fourth as the Warriors were third in the 4×800 relay and fourth in the 4×200 and 4×400.
C-NS took over in the afternoon session, with the boys and girls each winning their respective divisions and earning the exact same final total of 187.5 points.
Brooke Blaisdell won the triple jump with a leap of 35’10 ½”, more than two feet ahead of the field. Blaisdell also was fourth in the 55 sprint as Hannah Boyle won the 300 in 43.71 seconds, ahead of McKenna Slate (44.83) in third place.
Kate Putman, in 4:38.83, roared to victory in the 1,500 as Allison Newton was second in 5:05.67. Savannah Kuhr beat the field in the 55 hurdles in 9.40 seconds. Putman, Newton, Erin Slusser and Hannah Reichard won the 4×800 in 10:20.89.
Reichard won the 3,000 in 11:01.60 before Slate, Ivy Dong, Hannah Boyle and McKenna Johnston won the 4×400 in 4:20.77. Lilly Capria was victorious in the high jump, clearing 5’1”. Johnston cleared 7 feet for second in the pole vault.
Stephanie Webb claimed the shot put by throwing it 29’9 ¼”, with Webb third in the weight throw just behind teammate Faith Keville, who was second with 32’4 ¾”.
Slusser was second in the 1,000 in 3:25.64, with Peyton Empey fourth. Morgan Kingdeski was second in the 600 in 1:44.29 as Shannon Brown was fifth. Ava Schiff finished fourth in the long jump.
Over in the boys meet, C-NS went 1-2 in the 300, Sam Nessel holding off Colin Hopkins, 38.11 seconds to 38.49. Nessel went 6.92 seconds in the 55 sprint, finishing second as Josh Adams was third and Trevon Walker fifth, Nessel also helping the Northstars get second place in the 4×200 in 1:37.27.
R.J. Davis got to first place in the 1,600-meter run in 4:33.16. Matt LeClair, in 2:42.55, beat out Evan Bretibeck (2:43.50) to win the 1,000, with Evan Romano claiming the top spot in the 600 in 1:31.40.
Carlton Garnes won the triple jump by going 38 feet. Ganes, in 9.05 seconds, beat out Jon Hubbard (9.13) and Jacob Schmid (9.87) for second in the 55 hurdles, Garnes also getting third place (19’5”) and Jack Tschopp fourth in the long jump before he tied for third in the high jump.
Maxwell White threw the shot put 41’5 ½” for second place as Matt Wentling-Raymie (41’ ½”) was third, with Wentling-Raymie second in the weight throw by heaving it 40’8 ½”.
Josh Koeppe was second (10:08.66) and Zach Bergman fourth in the 3,200, the Northstars finishing fourth in the 4×800 in 8:53.92.
