Girls tennis teams from Liverpool and Cicero-North Syracuse were supposed to have opportunities to challenge the Baldwinsville Bees during the last full week of September.
The Warriors had lost a narrow 4-3 decision to the Bees on Sept. 10. But the rematch last Thursday was rained out and moved to this Thursday afternoon at 4:30, the regular-season finale for both sides.
Still, C-NS took its shot at Baldwinsville last Tuesday afternoon and could not get a point from them in a 7-0 defeat.
Cambrie Hibbard did the best in singles, yet still lost 6-3, 6-1 to Paige Tromblee as Sara Cartier and Olivia Cerio had a 6-0, 7-5 loss to Audrey Benton and Hannah Gould.
Liverpool secured a 7-0 shutout of Syracuse East that same afternoon, with Diana Kozenyatko and Gabby Underwood pulling off singles shutouts and Kelly Geiwitz winning 6-2, 6-0 over Hibatullah Shaalan.
Some challenges came in doubles, but Olivia Magnarelli and Crystal Morgans shot past Eh Hso and Hsar Eh Soe 6-4, 6-0 as Sheridan Bryerton and Kaia Wallingford had a 6-3, 6-1 win over Emma Banuski and Sophia Holtsbery.
C-NS, meanwhile, lost 7-0 to Fayetteville-Manlius a day after the defeat to B’ville, as Karly Williams got the most games in singles during a 6-1, 6-4 defeat to the Hornets’ Trisha Adivikolanu.
In first singles, Krista Feeney had a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Samhitha Adivikolanu, with Hibbard falling to Angela Iskander 6-1, 6-2.
Angel Languaphay and Emily Pilz were involved in the closest doubles match, taking a6-2, 6-1 loss to Maya McKenzie and Camilla Wojtasiewicz. Cartier and Olivia Cerio paired up, but lost to Anna Manta and Phoebe Wang 6-0, 6-0.
Elsewhere in doubles, Agibail Bustin and Lauren Misco fell 6-2, 6-0 to Alexis Ahn and Emma Zogg, with Elizabeth Chase and Sandy Lin beaten by Natalie Hugo and Lexi Kellish 6-1, 6-0.
