To the editor:
To the town of Salina residents:
Thank you for your votes in the Aug. 13 special election. As you already know, in that election we came together as a community to abolish the receiver of taxes position within the town government. When Alicia McCollum retired in April after 23 years of excellent service to the community, we saw an opportunity to streamline and save approximately $100,000 in annual cost. The town board adopted a local law to abolish the position, but it was you who voted on the referendum that made the law take effect.
Thank you for being active members of our community. This could not have happened without your votes. I am honored to serve on the town board and look forward to continuing to make the town of Salina an incredible place to live.

Salina Town Councilor
