John S. Bertling Jr. 77, formerly of Skaneateles, NY, and most recently Landing, NC, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2019. “Jack” owned Jack’s Auto Body Works in Caldwell, NJ, before retiring to Kannapolis, NC. His one true passion was Auto Racing and he treasured his family. Jack won many TQ Championships and loved racing his Dirt Modifieds and was always chasing the win. He is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Bertling Hoffman, Tara Griffin and son Jack Bertling. Also his bother Bob Bertling, sister Janet B. Frank and by his many nieces and nephews including Melissa, Carl and David Hornung, Bobby Bertling Jr., Brock Bertling, Sarah Francis and Blaine Bertling and Carrie Janisse. He was preceded in death, by His Mother and Father John (Jack) Shepard Bertling and Margaret (Peg) Janisse Bertling, brother Dick Bertling and nephew Kurt Hornung.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held this summer.
