The Camillus Senior Center is always looking for volunteers to serve lunch at the center. Shifts are available from 11 to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule. Volunteer drivers are also needed for our CatFISH program to transport seniors to doctor appointments. Please visit or call the senior center for more information.
Mother’s Day Luncheon
Join us for a celebration of moms. Friday, May 10 at noon. Seniors age 60+ and their spouse of any age are eligible. Suggested contribution is only $3 Guests under 60 are welcome for $6. Entertainment by John & Deb Puma at 1 p.m., call the senior center to make a reservation.
Bunko
Join us for this fun dice game. Great chance to get out, meet friends and socialize. All supplies and refreshments provided and now we play twice a month. Prizes. Second and fourth Monday of the month. The next sessions will be held on Monday, May 13. No session on May 27 due to the holiday from 1 to 3 p.m., $2 per person – Cash. Call 315-672-5820 to sign up.
Jewelry Making
Come make a 7” toggle bracelet or earrings with beads and wire or an Embossed Card Stock Pendant. All supplies included and a sample is on display at the center. Instructed by Alyson Esposito. Wednesday, May 22 from 1 to 3 p.m., $5 for earrings or bracelet per person or $10 for pendant, per class. Please register in advance by calling 315-672-5820.
Line Dancing
Do you enjoy dancing but don’t have a partner? Line dancing is the perfect answer! Instructed by Beverly Proulx, this class will teach the basic steps and a few dances. Guaranteed fun! Tuesdays, May 14 to June 18 from 1 to 2 p.m., $20 per participant- This class is for everyone, both men and women.
Mah Jong
Every Friday morning from 9:30 to noon. All players are welcome. Newcomers are encouraged!
Afternoon Art
Join us for a fun and relaxing afternoon painting “Lighthouse.” No artistic ability required! All participants will paint the same picture but will give it their own twist. Instructor will give simple, step by step instructions. All supplies will be provided. A sample is on display at the senior center. Wednesday, May 8 from 1 to 3 p.m., $25 per person. Instructed by Linda Spencer.
Mexican Train Tuesdays
Join us for a fun afternoon playing the dominoes game of Mexican Train. Every Tuesday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Call the center to learn more and come early and enjoy lunch.
Card Making
Make beautiful homemade All Occasion greeting cards. All materials provided. Wednesday, May 8 from 1 to 3 p.m., $5 per person, two cards per class. Please call 315-672-5820 to register. Instructed by Alyson Esposito.
Caring for your Aging Skin
Our skin is an organ and needs special attention. We will discuss the changes in our skin as we age and different skin care routines for maintaining healthy skin. Tuesday, May 21 from 10:45 to 11:45 p.m. Instructed by Sandra O’Connor, RN. Free. Registration is appreciated so please call the office.
Trivia Day
Let’s have a little fun after lunch! Teams or tables will compete against each other to answer a variety of trivia questions. Prizes! Wednesday, May 22 from noon to 1 p.m. No charge to play but a donation for lunch. Sign up at the front desk or call 315-672-5820.
Chair Yoga
Enjoy the benefits of yoga right from your chair! Learn simple movements that gently exercise each part of the body, even our breathing. These seated exercises build strength and flexibility so we become more mobile and confident. Additional balance work is done standing while using the chair as a steady support. Thursday afternoons to June 6 from 2 to 3 p.m., $25 per person.
Back Pain and Sciatica Seminar
Do you suffer from back or leg pain when you stand, walk or sit? Are you afraid your pain will get worse if you don’t do anything about it? This workshop, instructed by CNY Physical Therapy, may be able to help. Thursday, May 30 from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Free – please call the office at 315-672-5820 to register.

Calling all Seniors – We need you for our upcoming Senior Variety Show! If you have a talent for singing, dancing, playing an instrument, acting or just being funny – stop by or call the office for more information on how you can be involved in our production. The Variety Show is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The trip committee at the Camillus Senior Center 25 ½ First St. Camillus, NY has been busy planning fun day trips for the upcoming 2019 warm weather season. Full payment, in the form of a check made out to the Camillus Senior Center or by credit card must accompany your registration form. A detailed flyer for each trip that includes trip policies is available at the senior center and MUST be completed. Participants must be 55+ to join a trip. Spring Mystery Trip
Our Mystery Trips are very popular and this trip will be too. We can’t tell you where we are going but you won’t be disappointed. There is some walking involved in this trip. Wednesday, May 15 8 to 5:30 p.m. Cost per person: $80/$85 for non-residents.
New York Amish Country
Experience the Amish culture up close and personal as we visit Amish farms and stores in the Finger Lakes area. Lunch will be prepared and served by an Amish family on their homestead. Friday, June 28 8:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost per person $70/$75 for non-residents.
1000 Islands Boat Cruise & Boldt Castle
Trip includes a 2 ¼ hour cruise on the St. Lawrence River with a board buffet lunch. Afternoon stop at Heart Island for a self-guided tour of Boldt Castle. There is walking involved in this trip. Wednesday, July 17 9:30 to 7 p.m. Cost per person $80/$85 for non- residents.
South Pacific at the Merry-Go-Round Theater
Trip includes a matinee show and an early dinner at the Inn Between Restaurant in Camillus. Meal choices are available and can be selected at the time of registration. There is not a lot of walking involved in this trip but there are stairs to climb to enter the restaurant and in the theater. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 12:45 to 6:30 p.m. Cost per person $92 /$97 for non- residents.
Lake George Boat Cruise
Trip includes a luncheon cruise aboard the 190 foot sailing vessel, Lac du Saint Sacrement on beautiful Lake George to the Great Sagamore Hotel. Live entertainment on board. There is little walking involved in the trip. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 7 to 6 p.m. Cost per person $85/$90 or non-residents.
Fall Mystery Trip
Join us for this fun-filled trip and hopefully we will view the fall foliage. Don’t ask where we are headed because it is a secret! Lunch will be served and you can select your item at the time of registration. There is little walking involved. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 7 to 8 p.m. Cost per person $85 /$90 for non-residents.
