During the holiday break, both of the Cicero-North Syracuse bowling teams went to Niagara Falls to take part in the Festival Of Lights Tournament.
Once back home, the Northstars had a key Salt City Athletic Conference Metro division match last Thursday against Baldwinsville at B’ville Sports Bowl, and could not gain a point on either side.
The 3-0 boys defeat was marked by seeing the Bees’ Tanner Rozcyko tear his way to a 750 series, well clear of C-NS’s best set of 581 from Tim Cloonan as J.J. O’Connell had a 568 series and Landon Spingler added a 556 series.
Not only did Rozcyko bowl well, but Dylan Williams shot a 266 game on his way to a 599 series, with Dylan Love getting a 589 series and high game of 222.
The C-NS girls also lost, 3-0 to B’ville, though Elianna Pitts had a 582 series and 226 high game. Jessaia McGriff’s 184 game was part of a 499 set and Katie Cloonan shot a 170 in her 455 series.
Still, the Bees finished on top, Brooke Flask sensational during a 643 series that included a high game of 237. Amelia Ponto added a 545 series with a high game of 204 as Hannah Pinard’s 185 game led to a 529 set.
Both C-NS sides faced Auburn on Friday afternoon at Strike-N-Spare Lanes, and split those matches. The boys won 2-1 despite the Maroons’ Ben Morabito shooting a 265 game in his 675 series.
With a bit more depth, the Northstars pulled through as Cloonan shot a 624 series and 212 high game and Spingler’s 213 led to a 619 set. J.J. O’Connell contributed a 596 series and Tyler Dottolo shot a 227 on his way to a three-game total of 582.
However, the C-NS girls lost to Auburn by that same 2-1 margin, Pitts getting a 570 series and 212 high game as Trinity Drzodz added a 473 series and McGriff a 440 series. Kaylee Hodson led the Maroons by putting together a three-game total of 609.
Liverpool began the new year with 3-0 sweeps in last Thursday’s pair of matches against Syracuse at Strike-N-Spare. On the boys side, Zak Ormsby shot a 697 series with a high game of 248 as Devin Roberson and Brandon Davis each shot 200 games.
