To the editor:
Town of Cazenovia residents are fortunate to have three qualified candidates from whom to choose on Election Day 2017. When headed to the polls, please consider the background and experience Kristi Andersen has shared with the community throughout her residency, as well as during her tenure as town board member.
I have had the privilege of serving with Kristi on the Cazenovia Public Library Board of Trustees and on the Literacy Outreach Committee, a subcommittee of the Cazenovia Public Library. In both settings, Kristi has modeled effective leadership through her words and, most importantly, her actions. The mindfulness with which she considers various perspectives on any given topic is readily apparent and serves her well in approaching challenges with a collaborative mindset.
Most recently, Kristi began using some of her time in retirement to learn about evidence-based reading instruction in order to become a volunteer tutor for struggling readers. The enthusiasm with which she approached learning this new skill is a prime example of her dedication to inspiring the next generation and demonstrates her commitment to selflessly serving others.
A contested election is an opportunity for all registered voters to exercise their rights as citizens to choose the candidate(s) that best represents the vision we seek to create for our community. A vote for Kristi Andersen is an opportunity to recognize that preservation and progress are not mutually exclusive, but rather can be accomplished through thoughtfulness and thoroughness.
