Looking for something to do to celebrate the coming of spring or the Easter holiday? There are plenty of events in the eastern suburb area that are low-cost or free.
From 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, the East Syracuse American Legion will hold a Breakfast with the Bunny event. The cost is $3.50 per person, $12 max per family and includes a breakfast of pancakes, sausage, orange juice, milk, coffee and a picture with the Easter Bunny.
On Sunday, April 9, the Town of Manlius Recreation Department and Green Lakes State Park will sponsor a “Spring Fever” event, which will include a fishing derby, beach games, planting flower seeds, a spring photo booth, a basket raffle and concession, among many more. The event will run from 1 to 4 p.m., and admission to the park is free. The fishing derby is for children ages 3 to 13. Register for the fishing derby at manliustown.recdesk.com or in person with the form at the Town of Manlius Recreation Department, 301 Brooklea Drive, Fayetteville.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, April 15, the village of Fayetteville will sponsor their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Fayetteville Senior Center, 584 E. Genesee Street in Fayetteville. The event is free to attend, and includes refreshments and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
At 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, the Village of Manlius Recreation Department will hold their Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast with the Bunny at the Manlius Village Centre, 1 Arkie Albanese Avenue, Manlius. The egg hunt is split up by age group, and locations will be announced the morning of the event. The event is free to attend.
The village of East Syracuse will also sponsor a free Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 at Ellis Field Park, 500 McCool Avenue, East Syracuse. The event is meant for children 10 and under, and hunt locations will be determined by age.
Also at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, the village of Minoa will hold an Easter egg hunt at Lewis Park on the corner of Main and Hulbert streets in Minoa.
