Lots of new smartphones, tablets and other tech devices will be making their way into homes this season, whether they are self-gifted or intended for someone else. Did you know that the vast majority of these devices do not come with any sort of manual?
Granted, the companies that have designed the technology have spent large amounts of money, time and energy making them as intuitive and user-friendly as possible. Still, at some point there is bound to be a problem you encounter, a question you have, or a task you need assistance to accomplish. Where can you turn for help? The library, of course!
Tech help is available at all Northern Onondaga Public Library (NOPL) locations by appointment on various days and times convenient for you. In addition, NOPL at Cicero offers free, 30-minute one-on-one tech help sessions called Device Advice between 12:30 and 3 p.m. every Tuesday.
When it comes to the specifics of your own device — unique features, built-in apps or troubleshooting problems – there are bound to be questions you have that we don’t have the answer to. When that happens, we can help locate resources that will get you started in the right direction.
Our librarians’ expertise lies in helping you get the most out of your new device by introducing you to library apps and services that are intended for mobile users, such as streaming music and movies, digital books and magazines and more.
Book a free tech help session today by calling any NOPL location: Brewerton — 676-7484; Cicero — 699-2032; North Syracuse — 458-6184. Start getting the most out of your mobile tech devices!
