In conjunction with the Village of Cazenovia’s annual Christmas Walk tree-lighting festivities on Friday, Dec. 2, Cazenovia College students will host two arts and crafts fairs from 4 to 8 p.m. in close-by locations.
The “Arts in the Community” class will host an animal-themed arts and crafts fair at Common Grounds to benefit Wanderers’ Rest. Art and Design faculty members and students are contributing ceramics, glassware and other pieces of art, featuring animals from kittens to pangolins, for sale. Proceeds will benefit Wanderers’ Rest animal shelter located in Canastota. Prices start at $5, with all items modestly priced.
Photographs of adoptable pets will also be featured, courtesy of the college’s student photography club. In addition, individuals who bring items to donate to Wanderers’ Rest will be eligible for a raffle to win a unique work of art. To participate, go online to wanderersrest.org/donate/wishlist for a full list of needs. Individuals without in-kind donations may participate in the raffle by purchasing tickets.
Up the street, the Cazenovia College Art Gallery in Reisman Hall, located at 6 Sullivan St., will be the site of the Seventh Annual Arts and Crafts Fair. This event, coordinated by Patricia Talamo, a senior studio art and photography major, will display handmade creations of Cazenovia College students, faculty and staff. Holiday shoppers are welcome to browse a variety of glassware, pottery, fiber works, paintings, photographs, ornaments and jewelry while enjoying free hot cocoa.
