A Cicero man has been arrested by Madison County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with unlawfully entering a residence on Peck Road in the town of Sullivan and stealing a safe. According to the sheriff’s office, Shaun P. Sharp, 29, fled the scene and then damaged the safe in an attempt to steal the contents.
After a “be on the lookout” broadcast in both Madison and Onondaga counties took place, officers from the Manlius Police Department located Sharp in the town of Manlius after a vehicle matching the description of Sharp’s was spotted and pulled over.
Sharp was turned over to Madison County Sheriff’s deputies where he was arrested and charged with burglary in the second degree (Class C felony), criminal mischief in the fourth degree (Class A misdemeanor), and petit larceny (Class A misdemeanor). He was arraigned at the Village of Chittenango Court and remanded to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.
Sharp is scheduled to appear at the Town of Sullivan Court on Nov. 22 to answer the charges.
