DiBella’s Subs, a Rochester-based restaurant company with 44 locations in six states, opened its 45th restaurant and first in the Syracuse area at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The new location will be located at 5805 Bridge Street in East Syracuse.
The restaurants feature dining rooms and a unique casual atmosphere reminiscent of a 1940s New York-style corner bakery and deli. Started as a corner grocery in 1918 in Rochester, the small-family run business gradually became a deli focusing on high quality cold cuts, cheeses and old-time baking techniques, which have helped create the DiBella’s submarine sandwich that is so famous today.
At the core of DiBella’s is the freshly-baked, crispy and traditional bread that is baked in-house throughout the day. DiBella’s dough is aged on a daily basis for a minimum of 16 hours before baking and each roll is scored and seasoned by hand before going into the oven. The rolls are baked a minimum of twice a day.
In addition to submarine sandwiches, DiBella’s features salads, fresh-baked cookies a variety of side items and offers catering options.
DiBella’s Subs has 45 locations in New York, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Michigan. For more information, visit dibellas.com.
