To the editor:
The Lysander Parks and Recreation Department would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Baldwinsville Optimists Club for inviting us to pick up a program that has become a Baldwinsville tradition. The Halloween Window Painting program was transferred to the Lysander Parks and Recreations Department this year and we are thrilled to be continuing this village-wide project.
We are indebted to the following: the Optimists (especially Monika for giving us a starting point) for funding us for the first year, Baldwinsville village businesses who are on board with letting the area schoolchildren paint their Halloween-themed pictures on their windows and also to the parents who braved the less-than-perfect weather conditions on Saturday morning to bring their kids out for this event. To Jim Delia for inviting us into Pizza Man and providing us with a hot meal after putting up window stickers. To Mike Conway for your photography. Thank you for capturing this wonderful event under the worst weather conditions!
We also had a great deal of support from Jean, who helped us organize a super troop of Boy Scouts, No. 119, and their parents to help out on cold and rainy Saturday morning! Thank you so much guys you were a huge help!
Bill, Debbie, Faith, Brynna and Robin, thank you for generously giving your time to help us make this event a huge success.
We would also like to thank Joe Saraceni, Dina Falcone and all of our fellow co-workers for their support on both Friday night (labeling windows) and Saturday morning (handing out paint). This could not have happened without all of your support, and we truly appreciate all of your efforts. Thank you!
