Roger S. Lewis, 90, of Cazenovia, passed away Friday morning, Oct. 14, 2016, at home. He was born in West Winfield, N.Y., a son to the late Fred and Kathyrn Lewis. Roger was a proud veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Navy. He was the parts manager for Mack Trucks and retired as the parts manager from Syracuse Supply Company. Roger was known as the “Tool Man” at the Madison Inn where he sold antique tools. He was a member, past commander and past chaplain with the Town of Manlius V.F.W. Memorial Post 7872 as well as a member of the American Legion Post 88, Cazenovia. Roger enjoyed woodworking, reading, playing cards and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jean Roberts Lewis, who died Aug. 4, 2005.
Roger is survived by his two daughters, Sharon (Rick) Gifford of Cazenovia and Linda (Tom) Dashnaw of Potsdam; one brother, Paul (Betty) Lewis of West Winfield; a close friend, Joan Sweet of Chittenango; five grandchildren, Ryan, Brett, Shawn, Lisa and Devon.
