To the editor:
Volunteering is the best feeling anyone can have. It feels good because you know that you are helping someone and making their day better with your help. Everyone should volunteer because by helping someone feel better, you are also creating the best feeling in the world. I was able to help my friend, Jeff Eckhart, with his Eagle Service Project. He noticed that a family was in need for a wheelchair ramp for their son, who had two strokes and now needs a wheelchair. The ramp was being built so their son will be able to gain entrance in to his home. The planning and the construction of the ramp took about a month to complete. Jeff recruited many volunteers from the troop and many adults as well. The family that the wheelchair ramp was for helped in the assembly of the ramp to help speed along the process. After the ramp was done and the son was able to gain entrance, I felt like I have helped a family with a crisis and honestly it felt really good and people should volunteer more often. If people would like to volunteer more they can go to the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center or call their number, which is 638-0251. This project has changed me because now I try and help anyone at any time, even in school with holding a door for someone. Even the smallest acts can make a difference.
