On September 13, 2016, at approximately 11:30 am, State Police in Lafayette responded to 1019 Masters Road in the Town of Spafford in Onondaga County for a missing 3 year-old child.
The investigation revealed 3 year-old, Taylor Kilts was with her mother at a neighbor’s house this morning when Taylor wandered off with her two dogs. Reverse 911 calls to neighbors were conducted to alert them of the situation. State Troopers, along with officers from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Search & Rescue, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, including AIR 1 and the Town of Camillus Police were all actively searching for the missing child. The area was difficult to search due to the terrain, which included a heavily wooded area with swamps.
At approximately 3pm, a neighbor on Craig Road noticed the missing girl along with her dogs walking out of a wooded area and immediately contacted 911. Troopers responded to the area and transported Taylor back to her residence where she was checked by medical personnel and released back to her parents.
